General Information

Submission deadline: All submissions must be received by June 15.

Categories:

Prizes: Winners will be contacted individually and be announced on the website and recognized in the DefCon 14 printed program.

  • There may be multiple winners per category.
  • We reserve the right to not select a winner for every category

ASCII Art:

  • ASCII Art may be made any size you desire but the resolution should be set to be 600dpi (for .jpg or .psd) AT THE FINAL PRINT SIZE (eg. 5x 7 at 600 dpi). the preferred format is vector artwork.
  • ASCII Art may be of any subject but extra bonus points will be given to those that are DEFCON oriented.

What we will do with it:
ASCII Art submissions will be added on-line to the DEFCON web site, and cool banners may be included in the con program.

What you can win:
The first place winner will receive

  1. free admission to DEFCON 14 for one person (DEFCON 14) and
  2. a $50 credit that may be used at the official DEFCON SWAG Store and recognition in the con program and website.

Banner Art:

  • Banners may be made any size you desire, but the most common is 468 x 60 pixels. Please set the resolution to be 600dpi (for .jpg or .psd).
  • Artwork should incorporate the following text: DEFCON/DefCon/Def Con 14/XIV/2006/fourteen
  • Accepted file formats: jpg, gif, psd, eps

What we will do with it:
Banner submissions will be added on-line to the DEFCON web site, and cool banners may be included in the con program.

What you can win:

T-Shirt Art:

  • Art for T-shirts will only be accepted if they are submitted in the following format: VECTOR EPS file, with type converted to outlines.
  • Artwork should incorporate the following text: DEFCON/DefCon/Def Con 14/XIV/2006/fourteen

Photoshop, PDF, Word, .TIF, .GIF, .JPG and any other files submitted in formats other than what is specified above WILL NOT be accepted for entry to the T-shirt contest.

What we will do with it:
T-shirt art submissions will be added on-line to the DEFCON web site, and cool T-shirt art may be included in the con program.

What you can win:
1) free admission to DEFCON 14 for two persons and 2) a $130 credit that may be used at the official DEFCON SWAG Store and recognition in the con program and website.

Wallpaper:

  • Create your desktop wallpaper at 1600 x 1200, 72dpi
  • Art must incorporate the following text:
    DEFCON/DefCon/Def Con 14/XIV/2006/fourteen

Accepted file formats: jpg and psd

What we will do with it:
Wallpaper submissions will be added on-line to the DEFCON web site, and cool wallpapers may be printed in the con program.

What you can win:
1) free admission to the conference for one person and 2) a $39 credit that may be used at the official DEFCON SWAG Store and recognition in the con program and website.
